on your bed
with your palms upwards
disarmed
your sleepy thoughts following
your median line up over your head
sketching a big imaginary heart
arcs high as rainbows
but rooted in the ground
you're floating
a soft vehicle into the misty
imagining
you in your delicate breezy garments
embracing authentic north
your mind a peaceful jewel
set in a cardigan open
fluffy and flapping
dusty grape violet
knit and purl patterned
purple wool flying
over thin linen layers
grey as the sky
you're drawing your body warmth closer
a heart-shaped leaf of light
muted gold with visible silver veins
nothing is written in stone
there's a plasticity to life
in your hand
you realize
you're holding the gold leaf
full of future
alive with initiative
you realize
you do not need to stand statue still
and so you walk out of the picture
