the stars are out already
it’s getting dark so early
you’re reaching for a pillow
falling on your bed
closing your eyes
sensing an energy heart
drawn around you with a light pen
just like scribbling on the night sky
with a shooting star
arranging your body into savasana
imagining
you in an outsized orange
that’s your first impression
but of course it’s a ballooning puffer
a jacket made from recycled polyester
and some soft angel feathers
so you have to smile
resting like a healthy baby
in a puffy papoose
like an embrace
your arms tyre-like voluminous
but then you’re just walking
the streets of the dark city
spreading this mandarin winter’s grin
like vitamins
everybody’s pointing and smiling
everybody’s reaching for
this pret-a-porter
joy in the air
in a sense you’re Christmas walking
enlightening them
about gifts to come
waking some time later
you know you want to wear
that orange puffer jacket
in the darkest stretch of winter
under shooting stars
you want to carry joy and share it
in the streets of winter
spreading it like shooting stars
feelig a rush of good health
you’re jumping up to prepare
a hot meal for yourself
