in your sleep

Poetry videos on YouTube

My friend Dan-Tuyet Tham, a dedicated YouTube-contributor, offered to make poetry videos. I was rather doubtful about the project as I don't have much of a reciting voice, and being filmed is so not me! Anyway, we did it as an experiment: two short readings, one poem in English, and one poem in Danish.
At least, you can have a look at the crystals ...

beach thinker

basically you're in charge
because you know you can't control life
but you've got the blueprint

you bless your body
so sweet and well-known
a good friend to you
you in time

walking in the sand
near the waves
meeting a stormy petrel
on surfing wings

your see-through sarong
is lying in the wet sand
you pick it up tying
around you sweet remembered life
and more life still to come

bless your body
bless the sand
bless the waves
and the stormy petrel
on surfing wings

your body will be getting frail
because it's you in time
but you've got the blueprint

you're protecting your sweet body
with your intention to live

magical clutch

you come from thrifty mountains
your mother didn't bring a holdall
and there wasn't much to put in it
anyway

but she did have a pale blue dream veil
sometimes you miss it
and here is a kind of diamond laughter
she can't seem to catch

designing bags
is what you'd like to do
here are lots
but most of them filled with things
you don't really need

someday
you're gonna make a small purse
for always keeping near you
a magical clutch
you can even draw it
you see it so clearly

grab it on the run

a pale blue dream veil folded
to a thin square there if you need it
with a handful of trilling laughter
diamonds to match
and your own poppy red special heart
love forever there if you need it
