courage

you're standing by the aspen
you're still but the tree is moving
dark green leaves quivering light
like a Morse signal

you're moved by the sight
you're still but your heart is fluttering
receiving light from quivering leaves
airy coins raining silver

it's a message

in your sleep
in your dream shape
you're like a rowan tree
first in a blur of white
then with your red pearls
set in green filigree

no words
just music
but when awake
you're a talker
talking future
into fading people
at summer's end

you say here comes the future
talking about the red and green
life is a path of adventure

Poetry videos on YouTube

My friend Dan-Tuyet Tham, a dedicated YouTube-contributor, offered to make poetry videos. I was rather doubtful about the project as I don't have much of a reciting voice, and being filmed is so not me! Anyway, we did it as an experiment: two short readings, one poem in English, and one poem in Danish.
