over creased grenadine red trousers

and rose red laced boots

her long black hair satin straight

her pale princess profile calmly alert

looking towards the mountains

for everything's coming from the mountains

gathering kids from the village around her

she's telling them tales

reading aloud from a spelling book

nursing their green intellects

feeding them the milk of human attachment

but always aware of the horizon

for everything's coming over the mountains

she's young

but in reality

mountain mama

caring for the future

like a rose red silk sash
