cool runner

when night comes

you're letting go of your daytime mind

disruptions discussions

all settling like snowdrift

outside your inner room

feeling right inside yourself

breathing from your beginning

circling into a mandarin sun

vaguely in the shape of a heart

imagining

your mystical twin in his running gear

a mandarin wool sweater

sparkling with joy vitamins

and breathable ultra light pants

dark as midnight

and shoes with ambitious

white velocity stripes

eating the highway

at midnight

your mystical twin six feet tall

white smile on his dark night face

puffing his staccato breath on the earth

blowing it cooler

he's a cool runner

cool as cool can be

running across the globe

riding shortcuts

through the seven seas

cooling the meltdown

back to safety

sprinting or long distance

he can run

destiny down

you're speaking through a thread

in your minds and hearts

your soul night cord without words

he's your soul mate

cool runner

running to cool

but the warm heart beneath his sweater

is a mandarin juicy sun

at midnight

you're leading him

with the back of your daytime mind

down the water highways

he's running in the slipstream

running to cool

your connection

is a spirit cable

at the bottom of the ocean

keeping you together

he's a dream behind your day

your one mind brother

you feel the link subconsciously

submarine

cool runner

running to cool

puffing his balancing breath

across continents

speedy stripes whooshing by

on the waves

you're always keeping track of him

in the back of your daytime mind

but at midnight you're sustaining him

with the mandarin sun sweater
