rain coaxing

sleep is hard work

in this long wave of heat

your skin covered in a fine

diamond party shine of sweat

but you're trying

deepening into your body

loosening your grip on day

filling your lungs with the memory

of fresh night air

turning your sight inwards

imagining

you in a flowing unknown dress

delicate moon white but made

from something robust raincoaty

parachute like but elegant

with one shoulder free

you wear it with a fluffy lavender cardigan

barefoot in the park

visiting your special tree

the big serene horse chestnut

greeting you with joy but now

emitting low energy

the leaves a shrunken crepe paper

tired green

suddenly alarmed

catching tree thoughts

you let your cardigan fall

a luminous lavender shred

on the dark dry ground

and start dancing

in your moon white basic

coaxing a near-invisible shine

of moisture from the night air

shimmering young rain spirits

looking down on earth

from their little protective caves

in heaven

just clear and cool living

in the palace of heaven

you're dancing a prayer for moisture

to the green world

rain dancing rain coaxing

the diamantine shine

from spirit to misty to moist

come come out to play

in a dream within a dream

you wake up tense and poised like a dancer

tomorrow you're going to start training again
